About our Site

Designing the Fear’s Goal is to give you a different outlook on many of the haunted attractions and events. We wish to give you that “behind the scenes” look so to speak. We want to cover everything from concept, construction, all the way up to promotional shoots and other media outlets. We want to feature some of the stuff the public doesn’t see.

Here at Designing the Fear we are also going to feature many attractions, events, and haunts. We look for everything from the big names all the way down to at home one night haunts. Everyone always has something new to bring with them and can’t wait to see more.

For right now all haunt photos will be maintained on our Facebook page. All galleries featured here are from our collections. Events that we have attended personally and all pictures were taked by the mentioned staff.

Site History

This site began as an idea in 2008. As fans of Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights we realized realized there was a lot of work that went into the event but it would be cool if someone featured it. Sure there are boards, forums, and sites about the event but what about behind the event? All the ideas an work surely get recorded somehow.

In 2009 we began researching and collecting everything we could find. Thus we opened the facebook Fans of Universal Orlando’s Art and Design. In 2010 we had decided to expand but felt that just HHN Orlando was not enough to carry a site. We continued on with the group page and our number increased to over 800 followers. Now although this seems a small number we think it says enough about the community.

Now here we arrive to 2011. Although we are still mainly focused on Universal Orlando events we have now started to collect items from Hollywood and are working to find more events to cover. We feel that now is the best time to focus on a site. We hope to only grow from here.
